Founder
My very first interest in the stock market began in a high school economics class during the 2008 Great Recession. As the eldest of two children, I was born and raised in Novi, Michigan. To pursue my financial interests, I relocated to the suburbs of Chicago to attend a private university, Olivet Nazarene University.
While at Olivet, I double majored in finance and accounting where my financial interests developed into a passion in the personal finance industry. Continuing to build off this financial college education, this passion has driven me to pursue additional financial certifications in order to become a financial expert.
Experience & Expertise
Upon college graduation, my career began in the investment department of a bank. Working at the bank provided an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience, while also achieving my security licenses.
In 2018, I obtained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification. This certification has enabled me to provide the highest standard of excellence and professionalism in the industry.
Before founding BRJ Wealth Management in 2022, I helped start what became a top 5% producing advisory practice at LPL Financial among over 19,000 financial advisors nationwide. I was responsible for creating holistic strategies to meet the goals of over 200 individuals and families. I also led the investment management team where we oversaw $160 million assets under management of client portfolios.*
My “Why”
Outside of crafting financial plans, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my wonderful family. My wife, Kelli, is a dedicated elementary school teacher right here in Brighton. We've been happily married since 2016 and are kept wonderfully busy by our two daughters, Kaia (3.5) and Brecklyn (1.5). Their adorable "frenemy" dynamic provides endless entertainment!
After a decade away, we're thrilled to be back in Michigan and have settled into our new home in Brighton. We're actively unpacking and eagerly reconnecting with family and friends, excited to become an integral part of the Brighton community. When I have a moment to myself, I love being outdoors – whether it's exploring local parks with the girls, playing sports, or enjoying time on the water. Even in the Michigan winters, I continue my lifelong passion for ice hockey, playing weekly in a league.
